Details

Each year, volunteers from Highlands Church partner with the African Community Center and other area churches to cook and serve a Thanksgiving feast for refugee families. Hundreds of our new neighbors come to this event, which includes international music, dance, and other performances. This year, the event will occur on November 21 at the Mango House, 10180 East Colfax, in Aurora. We will have two volunteer shifts, from 4:00 – 6:30 and 6:30 – 9:00. The first shift volunteers will help set up our serving table and serve early guests. The second shift volunteers will continue serving food and will pack up at the end of the event. We will also need volunteers to provide lots of food, including turkey, side dishes, and dessert. If you can’t attend in person, we can arrange to pick up a food donation on November 21. ACC provides beverages, tableware, registration, and all other support. For more information, contact Bob Bongiovanni at bongiob66@gmail.com
